November 8th: Primary Reading K-2: How to support young readers at home
6:00 – 7:30 in the school library

Primary Reading Registration

Presented by Kristin Stoetzel, Reading Specialist, and Kathy Krakauer, Grade One Teacher
Have you ever struggled with finding the right book for your child or wondered what you can do to support your child at home?  This parent workshop will provide detailed information about readers at all stages of development, including examples of just right books and effective strategies you can use.

November 15th: MCAS for Parents Grades 3-4
6:00 – 7:30 in the school cafeteria
Presented by Ian Kelly, Principal and Ben Gatto, Assistant Principal
3rd and 4th grade mark the beginning of standardized testing for our students. For many students (and families) this is an unfamiliar situation. The press that MCAS receives often drives misconceptions and unnecessary anxiety. In this session, parents and families will gain insight into the design, structure, and scoring of the tests. They will also have an opportunity to discuss effective strategies surrounding preparing for and discussing these assessments with their children.
